I like the chairs on the two sides. we don't want more than four chairs total.

I like the functional piece of this. We don't have a catching zone for keys, wallet, etc. I don't know that it would look like this but a catch zone (likely in the kitchen near the window seat or stairs) would help. right now everything just ends up on the island.
