Lighting

Fluorescent Bulb: The traditional white light which imitates a glowing feature to the room. I found this great example of an outdoor setting using the light and it shows how bright it is even at night time.

Incandescent Bulb: Gives off a yellow light instead of the traditional white light. Can help set the mood of the room and can be very bright and works hand in hand with this example. The orange tones goes well with the yellow orange light.

2x4 fixture: The rectangle-shaped lighting from the ceiling disperses more light than regular light structures. I found a perfect example in an office space where it is commonly founded.

Scones: Usually found in the bathroom to give lighting at different angles. Their are many designs to what one can look like.

Wall Washing: Sends the light in different directions and expanding the room. This examples shows the light reflecting towards the ceiling and the floor.

Drop: Any lighting structure that hangs from the ceiling like chandeliers and in this example a light bulb. It uses up space but gives a unique character to the room because it catches the eyes attention.

Recessed: The dome shaped light scattered across the ceiling to give a dim light affect brightens up the room. It does not use much ceiling space either compared to hanging a chandelier.

Cove: The lighting surrounds the space and highlights the dining area. It separates the room from the ones next to it as the lighting shines directly around it like a spotlight

Up: How the lighting faces towards the ceiling and in a way elongates the room making the illusion that it is higher that it normally is.

Perimeter: There are two rooms shown and on the ceiling you can see where each room separates. The ceiling perimeter lights divide the two and highlight the space from the dining area and entertainment area.

Wall Grazing: The light on the the walls and ceiling really highlight the hallway in this image. In a way it helps guide the person in the room and connects the two rooms which bring them together.

Ambient Lighting: The different hues in light that help shape the mood in the room. In this room they show blue light on the ceilings which can be found to be calming on the eyes. The overall room looks peaceful with the help of the furniture as well.

Accent Lighting: The different lighting pieces in one room gives character to the overall look. They are next to each other and the color theme correlate to one another like in this picture. Overall the two different structures give a unique factor and go very well together. The extra lighting from the ceiling as well serve as accents to the overall room.

Task Lighting:The light is directly above the workspace and reflects very brightly onto the desk. There are individual light structures which can be controlled such as the desk lamp. The light on the ceiling looks dimmable and is a bright space to begin with because it is a neutral colored room.

Natural Lighting- The room has tall windows from the ceiling to the floor allowing for natural light to come in. Giving off a white light during the winder time. It looks very early in the day where it is just cloudy and cold. The main focus of the room are the windows and the furniture surrounds it. Neutral tones are used in the room so the light can enhance their colors.
