15 years ago John and Hilary Thurman decided that they had the design and manufacturing expertise to start a new business. Initially the business specialised in English Wirework for the garden, with particular emphasis on garden arches and wall trellis panels. As demand grew, we have developed new products such as door canopies, porches, and window boxes, garden planters, fireguards and log holders. Design Inspired by original architectural features and made using traditional techniques, we are constantly innovating and refining our products to create timeless designs that will suit both period and contemporary properties alike.

We've used Garden containers on a number of our projects and the quality of the workmanship is outstanding. Knowing these pots are only going to get better with age is part of the joy, and is actually quite rare with pots. I'm looking forward to working with them again soon.

Garden Requisites produced for me six large cube planters 700 x 700 x 700, and two very large bespoke planters 950 x 950 x 700. We had a very tight schedule Garden Requisites were able to deliver on the specified day. They were friendly, extremely organised and efficient. When the planters arrived they looked absolutely perfect better than I had imagined. They were very solid but still manoeuvrable with two men. The workmanship was excellent. I look forward to using Garden Requisites for projects in the future.

Unfortunately, we can not give a good review for Garden Requisits Ltd in particular Hilary Thurman who is lucking an important skills of communicating with the customers which is a part of customer care and after care. After we had a problem with a fire guard we bought from Forge and asked to resolve it we met a resistance and a rude attitude. The product we bought was far away from being neat. In fact people with small children should think twice of buying it as our Fireguard has got sharp edges on a wire twists and the paint dropped from some places, When we addressed problems with Forge, we were offered a sand paper and a small can of paint. We insisted on replacement of the fire guard. Before travelling to Forge, we asked to send us a picture of a new Fireguard. Mrs Thurman did not send us picture, but sent an email that the replacement Fireguard is in a good condition. When we travelled to Forge( from Poole to Village outside Bath) to collect it on arrival we were shown the replacement Fireguard in a worse conditions we bought originally. Dealing with the Forge was unpleasant experience in many ways. After travelling 2 hours I asked if I could use the washroom, I was pointed across the road to the cafe place with the comments "use it there". So, we have to advice other visitors if you ever decide to visit Forge show room be aware that customers are not allowed to use the toilet. We would never buy any other products from this company.

This is Hilary Thurman. I remember you and your gentleman friend very well, even though you haven't used your real name.

From the very beginning, you wanted more money off our lovely fireguard, even though you'd bought it during a £50 off offer period. It was your decision to collect it from our showroom, during which you checked it and signed for it 'received in good condition', which it was.

Surprisingly, upon returning home, you decided that it was faulty and wanted more money off it. I refused as there was nothing wrong with it - as you had previously concurred - but offered a full refund as you were getting very aggressive. You then decided you wanted a replacement, to which we agreed.

Your second visit was confrontational and I felt very intimidated by you and your male friend. Your male friend slowly studied the replacement, but decided to keep the original (because there was nothing wrong with either). I again offered you a full refund, but you would not accept it. You were both then reluctant to leave the showroom, circling me in an intimidating manner before asking to use our lavatory - under these circumstances I felt this was not possible. I have never refused anyone before, but I feared for my safety and that of my colleague in the office, so politely refused your request.

You omit from your review the ensuing angry threats and insults that you both made to me as you were leaving.

We take the utmost care to treat our customers with the highest possible levels of product quality and customer service and will continue to do so - this is my life and I take great pride in this business.
