“My husband and I have followed Michael Klement, the Principal at Architectural Resource, at the Ann Arbor home shows and remodeling tours for years. His passion for the work he does is evident in everything he does, and is delightful to listen to during his tours. We've visited every home that has been open for tours and no two are alike. His talent is so broad - from respecting a classic Italianate design, to creating a found-art energy efficient modern masterpiece. He excels at listening to what the customer is looking for and delivering perfection. He blends brilliant design with smart, efficient, architectural engineering. After years of dreaming of what Michael could do for us, we were finally in a position to consider hiring him. He met us at our home and talked with us about our "ultimate vision of living". We can see how this approach could lead to the perfect personalized homes that we had toured. He walked us through the design process and laid out an estimate for pricing. After the meeting I was so energized and excited that it took 2 hours to fall asleep (it was way past my bedtime!). Ultimately, we couldn't find a piece of empty property with the location / features we wanted for a price that would allow us to build new with Michael. So we purchased a home with "potential" and are saving up for the chance to do a remodel/rebuild with him on this property. We wouldn't dream of working with anyone else.”

There was no reason to redo any drawing. He heard us the first time around. Jerry was there from beginning to end. Supervised all building of his /our project. “We did a 4-season addition with porch and mudroom area off the kitchen/ dining areas. We also re-roofed the entire house, did an attic insulation blow-over, and painted walls and refinished hardwood floors throughout the existing living areas. It was a big project spanning two months non-stop. We had interviewed 3 design/build companies before selecting Cowdin, and we couldn't be happier with the result! At every step, Bill ensured our comfort and minimized the disruption to our daily life. Communication and follow-through was excellent. Our wish to collaborate was welcomed, and he shared our collective creative vision via CAD design and rendering tools to help us visualize the project during the planning and decision making stages. To help us participate in the construction phases, he used a web-based project planning tool called BuilderTREND that allowed us to monitor progress and approve change orders online. The project started and ended on-time with excellent coordination among the many contractors involved. Cowdin focuses on build a relationship with us. He blends technology and soft-skills on the client side with top-notch contractors on the execution side. In the end we are as delighted with our experience as we are with the results.”

“Damian Farrell is architect’s architect. After interviewing over four architects for our mid-century modern remodel, it became clear that ideas do not come quickly to many architects. Most in fact required us to commit to over $30K to get even a faint idea of what they were thinking. Not Damian. He came with a sketchpad and after a 20-minute conversation, he started drawing. It is hard to describe the pleasure of living within a wonderfully designed home. The light, the angles, the view – all of these carefully arranged without being obvious. A Damian Farrell design feels right. Plus, Damian easily saved us twice his fee on on materials and labor. We recommend Damian for any design need, from multi use commercial to furniture. He is the best - the absolute best!”
