    “Great Architect! Imaginative as well as pragmatic. "We met Keri as we were planning a kitchen renovation, screened-in porch addition and front porch portico addition which would require a variance from the local zoning board. Keri came over to chat, get a sense of our space, our interior design style, and review our scope of needs versus wants (something very important). We could tell immediately that Keri was able to envision what we were looking for as the end result. Keri completely re-designed (what I thought was already a great design because I did it!) our kitchen space in a creative, timeless, far more efficient design than I could ever think of. Keri displayed her strong technical expertise and design sensitivity when drawing our three season porch and portico. Everything was brought to life in not only perfect scale but also considerate of the home's age and it's placement into the neighborhood landscape. Keri is very detail oriented but has a unique way of translating those details into a cohesive design that you can understand and relate to. Keri was always available for us. She was prompt, prepared, and eased our fears throughout the entire process. That's the kind of experience you want when going thru a design and construction project.”

    “Thorne Design & Build designed and built 3 projects in our Victorian home - a kitchen remodel, basement transformation and full construction of a study and loft. I did not want to stop remodeling! Each project was unique, creative and beautifully designed and constructed. Duncan (owner), worked closely with me to understand my interests for each space and then designed something that met our aesthetic interests and budget. - The kitchen featured a built in nook, reclaimed wood and a stain glass window. - The basement included water proofing, an acid stained concrete floor, and reclaimed pieces for cabinet doors. - The study featured a live edge desk, a full custom ladder to a sweet loft, pipe railing and a diamond large window. I highly recommend Thorne Design & Build.”

    “My husband and I have had the pleasure of working with Jason on two projects. The first was a renovation of an existing space. Our old choppy house needed an update. Jason understood our vision and delivered an outstanding design plan. We couldn't have been happier with the outcome. He was able to bring a lot of interesting ideas that we had never thought of on our own. We loved working with Jason so much that when we decided to add to our existing home, we called him right away. Again, we were thrilled with the plans and are looking forward to the final product (completion about 1 month away!). Working with Jason is very collaborative process. He is very patient and listens to your ideas, thoughts, and concerns. We had an idea of what we wanted to achieve for both projects but could not have gotten there without Jason's insight and guidance. We would highly recommend Kurtz Design Studio, LLC for any project. Jason is truly amazing and we feel really lucky to have had the opportunity to work with him.”

    “In 2011 I engaged the services of Smook Architecture to conceive, design and oversee the construction of a new, 2,600 SF, hurricane-code compliant, second-home, on the water, in Centerville, MA. The home was completed in July 2012 and we are extremely pleased with the finished home, with the details and design elements it includes and with the many compliments it engenders for its contextural design, choice of materials, placement on the site and practicality of use. I would use Smook Architecture again and can recommend their collaborative, insightful services to others without reservation. This was a fun process where our wishes were respected, yet professionally challenged, when appropriate, where a design concept was presented, refined and then adhered to, and where the supervision of the building process was handled professionally, firmly and timely. I would not hesitate to use Smook Architecture for future projects, in fact, I would look forward to it!”
