“Michael Menn designed and constructed with the help of his experienced pool of subcontractors the kitchen of my dreams in an older home that I love for both its tradition and its memories. It is a pleasure for me to come down in the morning to a space so much in keeping with the style of our home and offering me at the same time all that is in modo contemporary for the our time. “We live in a 1918 Oak Park bungalow, complete with art glass windows and loads of woodwork throughout. Our kitchen was a late 80s powder blue counters and laminate cabinets--did not match our home or our needs for a big family. Tom Bassett-Dilley and his team completely rethought our space and designed a functional and beautiful space that matches the rest of our home. We can now entertain family and friends in a spacious, sophisticated kitchen. The mud room and sun room were also part of this project--reclaiming space so every inch our our house is useable, efficient and stunning!”

“My husband and I were very happy with James' work for us which included architectural work for our master bedroom and bathroom and our kitchen. Our Oak Park home is a 1906 gem and we wanted to keep the integrity of detail yet become more livable. Both projects included moving walls; designing wooden details--windows to cabinets--that reflected detail in the rest of the house; placing weight-bearing beams to support ceilings and roof; redesigning stairs to basement and back yard, etc. Vanderheyden is a good listener and a solid architect/designer. He worked well with both our contractor and kitchen designer to improve and carry out our designs. We give him 5 stars. Linda and John Hillman”
