“People say that building a house is one of the most stressful things you can do and they were not wrong. We 'survived' our house build and now we can safely say that Emmett and Fingal Planning consultants was one of the very few people that gave us consistent and sound advice/service. Our build was very complicated due to many factors, but chiefly the type of the house, a low-energy "passive house"-style, the location and having several contractors involved posed the greatest challenges. Emmett guided us through the process in his trademark no-nonsense approach and we were very lucky to have him when trying to manage all the stakeholders that a build inevitably has, like authorities, contractors, neighbours and so on. During the rough patches of the project, he always stuck by his word and actually did more than he originally signed up for. When Emmett says he will do something he does it; he is open, honest, and little ruffles his feathers - a much needed attribute when emotions are high and money is low! “We worked with Josh to design and project manage an extension to our 1930s house in Dublin 7. It included demolishing our old kitchen and lean-to sheds, and building a new kitchen/dining room with a downstairs bathroom / utility room. Beforehand we visited several clients in the local area who had positive experiences with House Architects. The pricing structure was very clear. Josh was a pleasure to work with, and unflappable, which is always very reassuring. Once we had designs we were happy with, he worked to put the project out to tender and managed the relationship and the payments to the builder. This was the most valuable aspect for us. Particularly towards the end of the project, there were probably issues where we would have let the builder cut corners, but it was great to have Josh there to hold the line and ensure the project was completed to specification. We've been living with our extension for 18 months now and we're delighted with it - it's transformed the way we use the house and the garden.”

“We have worked with both Gareth and Seamus on separate projects. They have both been exceptionally pleasant to deal with. Skilled, knowledgeable, talented architects but above all, a couple of nice, reasonable guys. They have both provided very clear and unambiguous drawings and specifications and have managed the contractor-client relationships extremely well. The projects got finished and we all parted ways as friends - that's saying something! We would highly recommend this practice to home owners and contractors (or should we be encouraging competition?!?) equally.”

“Peter designed a new kitchen extension on our Victorian House in Dublin 8 in 2016. We found Peter to be an excellent listener to our needs as we had a tight budget. The design that Peter came up was fantastic as it gave us so much light, a bigger back yard, along with making the house feel more complete. Peter did the full set of drawings for the builder and did several site visits and made any mods that we needed as the build went on. We are a family with 3 kids and the difference the extension has made to how the house looks and feels is astonishing. I would highly recommend Peter to anyone who is considering work to their house. Thank you Peter.”
