“I have been working with Donald Lococo Architects for the past two years on a large residential project in Alexandria, Virginia. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Donald and his staff. The house is a fabulous hybrid: traditional front facade contrasted with a thoroughly modern section in the back. The house is nearing completion...seeing this space come together - full of glass, light and dramatic open spaces - has been wonderful to watch. Five star design...five star firm!”

“James was the third architect we interviewed when we made a decision to build our dream home. After meeting him we cancelled all the rest. I am a real estate professional and I have come across some great works of art in the form of houses and have met their creators. What impressed me about James McDonald was his ability to listen carefully and understand our needs, It's like we told him our dream and he put it on paper even better than we had dreamt it. Throughout the building process he was available and willing to make any changes big or small, if practically possible. We trusted him completely and he never let us down. He has the highest work ethics and a stellar team to help him through extremely busy periods too. We would highly recommend him to anyone thinking of building a custom home or even remodeling an existing one.”

“We met with Ileana to discuss possible renovation ideas to our 1960s house to open up the space and to re-think our upstairs bathrooms. She designed the project in a way that allowed us to consider the two pieces (upstairs and downstairs) both separately and together. We originally thought we would focus on the upstairs initially, but we were so happy with the redesigned first floor that we ended up deciding to tackle this project first. We contracted with a local company to do the work, and they have had no problems following Ileana's architectural drawings.”

“Our experience working with Great Seal has always been great. Our most recent project had a 45 days deadline from homeowners to design & renovate home. Great Seal completed the design in 2 days and on the third day we were able to apply for the permits. Some of our past projects have included construction of new homes, additions, kitchens, basements, bathrooms and more. “Dan was an amazing resource for my house renovation, helping me at all stages of the project. He assisted me in figuring out the financing and then worked closely with me in an iterative way, going through various options to create the plans for what ultimately became my dream home. Dan's value was in combining a keen artistic eye with great structural and engineering knowledge as well a through knowledge of the permitting process and economics of house renovations. He also introduced me to a terrific contractor who proved invaluable and well as vendors and suppliers who were great. Renovating a house can a daunting and sometimes scary process, but Dan's good counsel, sound advice, first-hand experience, and architectural skills made the process exciting, fulfilling, and even fun. I highly recommend him.”

“As an architectural photographer, I have known and worked for Amy Gardner of Gardner Mohr Architects for more than five years. She is one of a group of architects that is thinking about the future and how she can utilize her generous talents to make better more sustainable and environmentally friendly buildings. I have found her designs to be invigorating. The spaces eminently functional and her designs to utilize the available light and air flow to be of equal magnitude. In short, the spaces and buildings are livable, functional, breathing spaces that are simply exiting and fun to be in. It has always been my pleasure to photograph these spaces and to convey with a photograph what Gardner Mohr Architects have created.”
