“We own a well designed and built 1926 bungalow, which had a not-so-well designed addition in the 1950s. We loved and treasured the original part of the house, but wanted to remove the addition and add a master bedroom suite and home office that would blend in with the charm of the original house and its steep-pitched (12/12) tile roof. We talked to three architects (paid two to draw concept sketches) but no one could – or wanted to take the time to - determine how to tie into the stick-built roof and create an addition large enough to meet our needs but not overwhelm the original structure. We had heard of Mark and knew he had designed a number of beautiful – and very large – homes in central Florida and thought that our little addition would not be of interest to him; but decided to contact him.
