“Hill House is a 16th century former farm house, the main part of which had been converted into modern living accommodation some time ago but which had an adjoining single storey outbuilding/small barn, used for storage, with the western aspect facing onto the Lyth Valley. The brief to Tim Chetham was to develop plans which would see the conversion of this outbuilding into a 2-storey development consisting of a living room and en-suite bedroom, ensuring that the new blended seamlessly with the old, and importantly, maximising the views onto the spectacular Lyth Valley. In scoping the project, Tim engaged well with us and gained a thorough understanding of our requirements. He translated our ideas, some of which were modified by his suggestions, into drawings which, when the final build was completed, exceeded our expectations by, internally, opening up the flow through the ground floor rooms, and upstairs an en-suite bedroom making effective use of the space and, importantly for us, maximising the views from both rooms. Tim met all agreed tasks on schedule and was within his quotation. We would certainly use his services again if required and would have no hesitation in recommending him to others - which we have already done!”

“We commissioned Unit 3 to carry out concept designs, detailed design and technical design stages for a two story rear extension in Cheshire. The design brief was to have a combined living/kitchen space, create an extra bedroom and enlarge the existing bedrooms and family bathroom whilst creating lots of natural light. Martin's talent was evident from the concept sketches, exploring options we hadn't thought possible. After listening to our "must haves" and getting to the bottom of our lifestyle and daily routine, we soon developed our perfect design together. The quality of work has been exceptional and unlike some of the other architects we approached, Martin was able to turns designs into reality via 3D generated images. He even created an augmented reality of our house! Martin's professionalism and dedication to our project has made the design stage a real success. Meetings have been at times to suit our busy schedules, most being in the evenings or weekends at no extra cost. We have also met for a couple of drinks together at locations that have helped to inspire the developed design from interesting lighting to exposed rafters. Above all, maintaining communication with Martin has been extremely easy, he replys to all queries and requests in a very prompt and efficient manner. We did not have to chase anything and he has always delivered on his promises.
