“My husband and I were pretty intimidated when we initially started looking around for help with our kitchen design because it seemed like we wouldn't be taken seriously since we're not working with a mansion. We just started growing our family and are fixing up a modest two bedroom so we wanted to keep costs minimal while maximizing our space. Of all the contacts we made, Aaron was the only one willing to work with our modest budget; he did so with complete understanding and enthusiasm and we were blown away by his compassion to help out. Working with him was very easy as most our correspondence was via email and he was always accommodating of any concerns or questions we had. I highly recommend Aaron Shimizu for his approach with first-timers and for solving what seemed like an insurmountable game of Tetris with our galley kitchen.”

“Jimmy did an outstanding job with the design and architectural plans for my 12,000 sq ft home here in Hawaii. Although the project took much longer to get to the build stage (not at any fault Jimmy's), he stuck with his original quote and time frames for billing. We had many meetings together during the design and build phase and made all necessary changes to the plans along the process. And as a result our home won the AIA Peoples Choice Award and a Merit Award with the BIA. The fees i paid were reasonable and the end result was outstanding.”

“I had a great time with John at Lapis Design Partners. He worked with me from the very first meeting to the final walk through process of my house located at Kahala neighborhood in Honolulu. He spent a great deal of his time into this project since I was not in full time residence during the process. We communicate over email, phone conversation and fax very intensively. He and his partner, Susan as a professional long-time interior designer always respected my views and wishes toward this dream house. I enjoyed the relationship with John during the process and appreciated very much for his professionalism as an architect and his responsiveness to the job. The results came much more than my expectations. We received one of AIA Honolulu awards. Most importantly, my time during the process was enjoyable ! Highly recommended.”

“Victor "Dean" Sinco is an excellent architect and he has an excellent team of drafts-people at Entheos. He is both creative and practical. He comes up with ideas that look good but are also cost-effective. He knows how to make new construction match original construction. He is great at supervising the work and coming up with solutions on the spot for any problems. He has always responded to me in a timely way. He has done both large and small projects for me. For one large project, he designed a guest suite addition to my house that added a laundry, kitchen, and screened porch to an existing bedroom and bath. At the same time he designed a roof extension, a new laundry room plus a solar water heater room, and a complete renovation of two bathrooms, one of them handicap. A few years later, he turned a walk-in closet into a half-bath plus a smaller closet and turned garage storage into interior storage. Recently, he designed a fence, gate, and lanai for me. I will continue to use him for any future projects.”

He is the only architect in Honolulu who will fully collaborate with clients and not impose his artistic views as is the case with many other local architects. He is also highly intelligent and can solve many problems of design and construction that other architects have problems with.”

“Dan was one of three architects interviewed and we found him to be straightforward, open and respected our ideas. He turned our ideas into plans and drawings. During actual building, we hired Dan to supervise the project since we were off- island. Besides being highly creative, he also kept us informed of the project budget and we also found him to be trustworthy. We would surely have him again for our next project.”

“Green Sand Architecture + Sustainability is a unique blend, Matt Goyke, architect and his wife Rhonda, a professional sustainability advisor. Our goal was to find an architect that would be a team player and design an Off Grid beautiful home that was healthy for us and non toxic to the environment. Our property site had some very challenging design issues. Green Sand's professional attitude was wonderful and amplified when they created a stellar team of engineers and professionals work together to craft designs, and solve challenges. We continued to work closely with Green Sand Architecture + Sustainability while we were in the building phase. Their professional knowledge, experience, and positive attitude shone through until we moved into our award winning home. Pa Ka Makani Farm was awarded LEED Platinum in October 2014. In the end, after all was said and done, we now call Matt and Rhonda our friends.”
