“Colin and his crew were fantastic! Our previous shower was only 6 years old, but had been poorly installed and caused a nasty leak that destroyed the shower as well as the flooring. Colin, Toshi and D worked quickly and efficiently, and the final result is absolutely beautiful. We absolutely recommend Colin for any project you have.”

“Jonathan renovated two bathrooms for us. His work was exceptional in every way. He provided cost projections, revised as necessary as design decisions and purchases were made and kept us informed as work progressed. Jonathan is also a carpenter so did this aspect of the job himself. His work in this regard was precise and methodical. We liked his choice of trades people. Plumber, electrician, tile layers and painter were all meticulous and pleasant to have in our home. They were also very considerate that we were living there. As with any renovation there were glitches. At one point costs were exceeding what we’d hoped due to our aspirations being bigger than our budget. John stayed the course with us through some frustration helping us to make decisions about where to compromise. An extra bonus is that Jonathan only takes on one major job at a time and so you always have his full attention. Unlike other renovations we’ve done in the past, with this renovation there were no down periods while we waited for work to resume and workers to get back to us from other jobs. We have no reservations highly recommending Jonathan.”

“I have had the privilege of working with Russ Barry on waterfront homes on Vancouver Island and found Russ as a builder, to be very enthusiastic throughout the construction phase and handled the each project very professionally. He is 'hands-on' and manages his crew very well and treats everyone including sub-trades with a high degree of respect. My clients have always given me positive feedback of having Russ on the job site. He always maintained a tidy and efficiently smooth job site, he is punctual and delivers on his promises!”

“Allan completed an upgrade to my kitchen two years ago. He changed a very ugly, dark steel door and small window for a very beautiful 3 piece patio door and installed a new large window on a side wall. This reno, while small by comparison to many other jobs, meant so much to me and my family. He was very professional and completely reliable, communicating daily. As a single woman raising two teenagers, he made what could have been a scary experience, into one that was calm and efficient, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I recommend him highly.”

Lucas then brought his great sense of design and deep experience to bear as he transformed the high level vision into well defined elegant blueprints. This process was highly collaborative and rewarding. As the project got underway the inevitable challenges were met with grace and creative solutions that aligned with the vision and budget. “Island Builders has been our only contractor for over thirty years. They have performed numerous maintenance and renovation projects for us on our first two homes.
