“My wife and I are exceedingly happy with the Mission style aquarium stand Chuck built for us after we discovered that the one that came with the tank was not only ugly, but unusable because of mass produced inaccuracies, and poor choice of material. In addition to that our home’s living room floor posed a further challenge because it was significantly more off from level than I had imagined. Chuck saved the day, and after thorough consultation with us created a one of a kind custom solution that not only takes care of all the requirements but is also aesthetically pleasing and blends in with the rest of our rustic furniture as if it came from the same source. He designed a Mission style piece made of white oak with slate inlays, an internal steel frame resting on eight leveling feet that guarantee even distribution of the enormous weight of water and contents, doors that open 170 degrees and can be taken off and reinstalled with a simple click and outfitted with a soft close mechanism so the fish won’t get startled, all with a height to accommodate my CO2 cylinders and regulator for my plant fertilization system. Chuck made sure he understood not just all the requirements and needs but our aesthetic preferences, and existing conditions as well, consulting with us regarding decisions not just before but along the way, exceeding our hopes and expectations with a one of a kind custom heirloom creation that will remain a focal point in our living room for us and visitors to enjoy equally. “Owner, Lain, superintendent, Mat, and office manager/interior designer, Kim, offer the utmost professionalism and decorum, and they hire skilled professionals who show the same courtesy. They added an apartment on the first floor of our home, so that my father-in-law could live with us. So, the kitchen had to be removed, and it became an open space adjacent to our new dining room. A brand new kitchen was added on to the back of our house, and they also built a new sun room next to it. We now have an open kitchen and dining room, which is very appealing. Our old dining room became my father-in-law's new bedroom, which is right next to his sun room/sitting room. Since we added hardwood floors with the new addition, the builder had to stain the old floors to match the new, darker ones. We also had them remove the carpet on the stairs and put hardwood with white stringers on them. New white, pedestals and spindles were added to update the look. “We moved from California to Colorado and bought a house that had never been updated since it was built in 1980. It looked awful but had good bones. Working together as a design and remodel team, his crew got to work tearing down walls in between the kitchen and dining, opening up entry ways, tearing out wetbars, rebuilding the kitchen and cabinet space including framing, sheetrock, hvac, building stairwalls, retexturing, painting, trimwork, gas, plumbing, electrical and lighting, backsplash installation and whatever else was on the scope of work to open up the kitchen into the dining and living room and make an updated, open concept living area. Andy and his crew were very professional, got things done quickly and expertly, cleaned up after themselves, were polite, positive and a joy to work with. He provided a detailed scope of work at the beginning and then monthly thereafter, we chose what we wanted to do, any change orders needed to be signed off by us and there were no financial surprises.. I was also glad I hired Sikora Construction and Speas Interior Deisgn because I wanted flawless communication between the design and construction so we did not waste time or energy to complete this remodel.
