“Morgan is a treasure. He first started doing home remodeling projects for me in 2011. He can do anything from custom carpentry, full bathroom and kitchen remodeling, interior and exterior tiling , etc. He is diligent and skilled. He is also very efficient. I recommend him highly.”

His drawings were very detailed and professional. We have not yet moved forward with the construction but feel confident that his work will reflect the quality of our meetings and his design.”

“Jocques and his crew put the finishing touches on my home in August, 2015. When I began my building project, I was looking for a contractor who would work with me as a team member. Jocques and Jessica, his partner offered this. The build had its difficult times, as all do. But throughout, there was always an opportunity for discussion and amendment of the project, if necessary. Some changes needed to be made, not due to Jocques' planning. He offered ideas and support for what needed to be done. His vision helped make my home what it has become--something very lovely. Building on Maui can be difficult. Patience is necessary. Resources are sometimes limited. Jocques and Jessica brought me and my home through all of this and I am extremely happy with the result. If there ever is a problem with warranty issues, he literally is here within hours to address is.”

“Island Independence remodeled both bathroom of my Wailea condo this spring. I feel very fortunate to have had Gabriel Krueger as my contractor. The project started on time and finished on time - a real feat in Maui where almost everyone and everything is on "island time." Gabe is especially gifted at finding creative solutions to those quirky situations that come up when remodeling a bathroom where the walls are not straight, etc. The finished bathrooms were gorgeous! Gabe is also exceptional in that he came back promptly to fix a few minor things that I hadn't noticed until after I had paid him in full. I can't say enough good things about Gabe - he is personable, intelligent, highly skilled, gifted problem solver, an excellent communicator and 100 % honest.”

“Mathers construction has completed multiple full remodels for me. When I say full, I mean demolishing everything in the home and then putting it all back together pretty. Other than being pleasant to work with, my favorite thing about Zach is that he doesn't have to be closely monitored. If you've worked with contractors you know how unusual that is. I've had multiple units where I did one walk through with him and a couple months later I walk in to a completed home that is nicer than what we talked about, and on budget. He always seems to come up with improvements that I overlooked. In closing, I'm hesitant to post this review because it may lead to him being less available to keep working on my jobs!”

“Mike completed a demolish and complete rebuild for us in 2011. The job was complicated as it was within an HOA and Mike had to continually liaise with the HOA management and neighbours. Mike completed the job on budget and ahead schedule. Mike was always very organised and detail oriented. He was also very easy to work with. He is hard working and honest. The total cost of the project was approximately $400,000. I would recommend Mike to anyone looking to build an home on Maui.”

“Steve has done various upgrades to our home over the years. They include window replacement,.finish work and bathroom remodels. We have always been impressed with the quality and timeliness of his work as well as the accuracy of his estimates. When it came time for a kitchen remodel, Steve is the only person we considered to handle the job. Once again, this turned out to be the correct decision. My wife and I selected and ordered all the materials (cabinetry, granite, flooring, appliances). However, this being Maui, there were a number of issues that came up due to order problems. Steve acted on our behalf to intercede with the vendor, suggest additions and come up with workarounds that actually enhanced the outcome of the project. If we have any other projects that we come up with, Steve and his crew will be our choice to handle project.”

“I was the electrical engineer/designer who worked for David on his very large and unique solar power system at his Kapalua residence. This was a very rewarding and challenging project which tied together two large independent off-grid systems so that they backed each other up. It was a pleasure working with David. He was always honest with me and reliable in payment. He was also very creative and had an excellent understanding of the design and operation of the system. A very friendly guy and one of the best projects I have ever worked on.”
