“For a few years, we wanted to change our old patio with a quality material. We met with several contractors and reviewed their quotes. None of the proposals were really what we wanted. We were beginning to resign ourselves and to think of some concessions, when luck or maybe even a small miracle put a young contractor with a very well expérience et skills, MHS Construction Inc, in our research. We were immediately won over by his ability to listen, by his will to sublimate everything he wanted to undertake. We can say that the work he has just accomplished exceeds our expectations. The patio is simply magnificent. The work is perfect, the lights that he has carefully installed make it even more magical. “Completely renovated our log cabin. They came in and demo'd it. Removing the drop down ceiling, making the whole log cabin 1 big gathering room (the lodge) with cathedral ceiling. They moved the stairs leading to unfinished basement (now finished), replaced all the windows in the log cabin, new ash flooring, new kitchen cupboards,added kitchen island, and countertops, notched out logs to fit new appliances. Also finished basement with new bedroom, laundry room, family room, bathroom and my favorite, "a craft room" from what used to be a "cluttered hall". Also added slider walk out door to patio area and outside shower.

New Frameworks Natural Design Build

“Ours is primarily a DIY project – a timber-framed, strawbale-wrapped house with external stud walls containing dense-packed cellulose insulation and (eventually) clapboard siding. We greatly benefited from consulting with New Frameworks Natural Design Build starting early in our design/planning process. Co-owner Jacob Deva Racussin, is very knowledgeable, thorough, friendly and outstanding teacher, who met with us several times and provided very useful feedback and suggestions, as well as instructions and sources for specialized construction supplies. He visited our project site several times, and taught us (and friends) how to shape and build with the bales. We also hired a New Frameworks crew, including co-owner Ace McArleton, to apply the base coat of plaster on the interior straw-bale walls. They were wonderful - very hardworking, plus enjoyable to work with! We very much appreciate everyone’s flexibility in working with us through our long, complicated and somewhat chaotic process. We think the world of all the New Frameworks Natural Design Build people and highly recommend them!”

We had a plumbing issue that required cutting holes in our living room, bathroom and bedroom. Gulfield Contracting came to our rescue!! They did an outstanding job! The quality of their work was exceptional. They were extremely careful not to get the spackling or sanding dust on our existing carpet. I wish I had taken pictures of before and after the repairs because when they finished the job you would not know that our walls were torn apart!! I would highly recommend them.”

We wanted to work with contractors as efficiently as possible because we didn’t want our tenant to be without a bathroom any longer than was necessary! Damien took charge of hiring the plumber because we were traveling at the time. He coordinated the work so that there was no lag between his work and the plumbers work, which kept the bathroom useable for a maximum amount of time. Job was done beautifully and he stayed in contact with us so we understood the timeline and what was being done.Also, Damien is a great guy to work with- easy!”
