“We worked with HDR Remodeling twice in our Oakland condo: once in 2007 to convert a hall closet into a laundry closet. Most recently in May-June 2012 to remodel and repaint the whole condo after a major mold remediation. In 2007 we purchased a washer & dryer and needed a closet fixed up to accommodate them. We interviewed a few contractors, but were most impressed with Philip's experience and went with him. His pricing was not the lowest of the contractors we met, but not overly high either. And as with our most recent project, we feel we got quality work for our price. Each professional who came in for their piece of the job (plumber, carpenter, electrician, etc.) was courteous and all of them worked quickly and efficiently to complete the job on time. They could have used sturdier shelving, but it's held up okay these past 5 years. This spring we needed to remodel the condo in preparation for sale. After our move out of the condo last year, we had mold remediation throughout the condo so all our bamboo flooring was taken out, a foot or more of drywall was removed from many interior walls and our bedroom windows were stripped down to the studs. HDR replaced all the drywall, covered the window frames, painted the entire condo, put down new carpeting and replaced a broken sliding door screen. Since we were out of state, Philip did his initial walk-through while on the phone with me then sent photos regularly so we were completely updated each step of the way. The work was done in a timely and efficient manner with HDR sourcing all the materials and workers. Overall I recommend HDR for their excellent customer service, friendly and competent workers and long-time experience. Their prices are a bit high, but not unreasonable for the quality work we've seen.”

The subcontractors were on time and extremely competent. Each phase of the work was overseen by Arsen and each day closed with detailed cleanliness. “Mike, owner of Paladin Home, did a wonderful job on our bathroom! We had a rough idea of what we wanted and Mike was able to fill in the gaps and create a bathroom that was perfect for the time period of when our house was built (1915) with modern upgrades for everyday use. Mike and his employees were professional, friendly and paid close attention to all of the details. They were extremely considerate knowing this was our only bathroom (and our first remodel) and worked with us to make the process very smooth and easy. The project was completed on time and on budget with a very high quality of workmanship. We highly recommend Paladin Homes for remodels and plan to use them again on future projects, especially for our kitchen remodel.”

“I have several reasons for highly recommending Smith & Son Inc. Our project was the installation of a composite deck over a worn out cement patio. Out of the three quotes we received, Lance Smith not only provided us with a detailed quote very quickly, he was the only individual we met with who followed up with us by telephone to discuss his quote. This discussion led to further clarity regarding our project and savings on the overall cost, putting us within our budget. Lance recommended a particular decking material which we are extremely pleased with. Knowing we were eager to start, Lance found a way to begin our project much sooner than expected. His three man crew was led by a seasoned and experienced foreman who not only guided his team, but also checked in with us frequently to make sure we were satisfied. Noe took great pride in his work and was very eager to please. They kept the work area tidy and safely stowed their equipment at the end of their workday. We are very happy with the finished project which exceeded our expectations. We would not hesitate to use Smith & Son again and would highly recommend them to friends and family.”

“Daimon and his crew did a marvelous job refurbishing our Condo. He inherited a difficult situation with an old building, poor walls to tear down, bad electricity, leaks and plumbing. The 2 new bathrooms, kitchen, flooring, cabinets are marvelous. Daimon is very professional, fair and always discussed necessary changes in detail.
