“These guys are one of the best building and design firms in the industry. They operate under complete transparency and assist in the design process to meet budget. Most experience I've had with designers and architect firms is that they either design your project way out of budget, making it impossible for the builder, or their designs look terrible and they blame it on budget. Not the case with Eddie and his team. Top quality designs that can meet any budget and complete communication that meet expectations every time. “Our extraordinary custom home, designed and reconstructed by October 5 Fine Home Builders is undeniably a work of art. October 5 offers superior design and execution, where form and function converge. Ryan, the project superintendent, attends to every detail with an eye for quality and perfection. Their open-floor plan design blurs the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces, light abounds in every room, yet the space remains purposely private and intimate. Originally constructed in 1953, our home had not undergone any remodeling or updating. During construction, the house was all but demolished - leaving only the rough framing and portions of the exterior stucco and siding. Earthquake updates, 200 amp electrical service, beefed-up insulation, plumbing, heating and air-conditioning, smooth drywall, wide-plank flooring, bathrooms, kitchen, and dual-glazed windows supported the bulk of the project, which lasted 4 ½ months. With clean contemporary lines, the modern floor plan, great for entertaining, offers a celebrated life-style. What a beautiful and relaxing way to enjoy life! “I've had the pleasure of working on a number of Scott's projects for several years now and can honestly say that he's an amazing contractor! As a kitchen and bath designer who's worked with many builders in Southern California, there are very few I would enthusiastically recommend and Scott Hess is one of them. First, I truly appreciate that he understands the need for a design professional's input on his high end projects; his attention to detail, organized approach and high quality workmanship always lead to a impressive end result; but mostly, his upbeat attitude and respect for all who are involved in the project, make the process so much easier and problem-free.
