“We hired Saltsman Brenzel to build a new house on the site of a demolished house. We had completed 2 construction projects in the past, with different companies, and our experience with SB was superior in every way. The design of the house is sensitive to the neighborhood and the site, while incorporating our requests. The design/build aspect was seamless, from permitting all the way through to finish work. The budget was kept track of with regular meetings & weekly spread sheets. I would highly recommend SB for a productive, low-stress, and enjoyable construction experience.”

“Ian has helped us re-do our deck and our basement all for very reasonable pricing and high quality work. He is helpful in choosing materials that are high quality and is open to suggestions on aesthetics, but also gives good advice if you're not sure what you want. We highly recommend him for any type of project. UPDATE: he also just did our front steps and they look beautiful and are safe now. He's definitely helped bring up our property value. He has the pictures posted on this website, recommend you check them out. His coworkers are very professional and make sure to clean up everything when they are done.”

“I had the pleasure of representing Peter as the listing agent on a custon built home in West Newton, MA. Let's just say that Peter is obsessive about his homes. The colloboration between Kent Duckham and Peter was extrordinary. They took such pains to design a house that would sit beautifully on the lot and the street. Peter mills his own cabinetry...the kitchen, baths, staircase and molding were all beautiful. As a Realtor, I felt proud to represent the home.”

“Hawthorn Builders are amazing. They expertly lead us through a massive, 10-month renovation and addition project... pretty much the only thing remaining intact of our old house was the living room floor! This was a complicated, difficult project where we were dealing with conservation land issues, septic issues, old-house-meets-new-house issues, and the myriad other issues one can expect during a large renovation/addition project. Hawthorn continually gave excellent advice, supported our decisions and worked hard to resolve each and every new challenge. They are extremely knowledgeable, keep an excellent team of subs at their fingertips and are professional in all aspects. And on top of all that, their work is outstanding. “I hired R. W. Anderson to provide interior trim services for a new home that I was completing in the spring of 2013. Caleb performed my work and was great. His craftsmanship was "old school," he offered a lot of well thought out and valuable advice, and the final result was that we got a tremendous job and finish product that I am very proud of. Caleb is a very good guy to work with - he treated my house as if it were his own!”

“Mike and his crew are great. He is very responsive, and will make sure that you have an end product you are satisfied with. He installed a master bath in our new house's third floor, in what previous contractors had said would be "impossible" or overly difficult due to the sloped attic roof. The results are phenomenal, and we were able to select every element we wished, from fixtures, tile, tile placement, trim, and details, such as edging and baseboards. The crew was kind, flexible, and moreover, they are polite and easy to be around, which is vital if one works from home. Mike replies promptly to texts, and always calls or stops by when something isn't clear. We stayed firmly within budget, completed the job for an extremely reasonable price, and his contractors detected and fixed leaks caused by the work of a local contractor we had previously hired--we will always be grateful for that. When we didn't like an element or noticed mistakes, we told him, and it was no problem and it got fixed, even if creative problem-solving was needed. We would recommend ByHome without hesitation to anyone.”
