Cleaning and sealing antique granite

Seeking advice on the above. Building a rolling cookbook stand topped with a piece of antique granite out of an old bank that was being demolished. Plan to use it for baking purposes - rolling out dough, kneading bread, etc. Any tips on how to prep and care for it?

Depending on the type of Granite and the color, any antique piece can benefit from a good face polish from a professional stone worker. Since this does not sound like a particularly large project, this may be an option if it is in your budget.

If it is not in your budget, a good stone product and good old fashioned elbow grease should do the trick. We recommend DuPont™ StoneTech® Professional Products. This can be purchased from large stone retailers such as http://www.flooranddecor.com.
