The best really effective mosquito netting is in a photo in Houzz on tropical bedrooms. It is custom made with a beige canvas top that goes horizontally across the top with no-see-ums netting in the middle which is much smaller holes. The canvas then continues down vertically about 8 inches and attaches to more netting. At about mattress level there is another 8 inches of canvas to keep it straight and then netting well down to the floor with excess to they can't get under it. The entire canopy is suspended from the the ceiling. THE KEY is the it it a good foot or more from the bed so you can't get you legs up against and so it won't end up next to your skin with the sheets. I would take this a step further and make it wide enough to include your night stands so you don't breach it every time you reach for something on your night table. If Mosquitos are a real problem and your dog(s) sleep with you make sure you towel them off before you all enter and consider a nice indoor wooden fence inside the netting area or similar to prevent the dog from pulling down or ripping the netting. We are going to build a house in Moorea and this is how I will do the bedrooms. BTW, Mosquitos that get inside your house hang out in your closets! During their inactive time so you can ferret them out by rippling through your clothing. Be ready with a large towel in each hand to catch and squish them. And don't include your closet in the bed netting, although having a separate one for the closet is a good idea. Again, use no-see-um quality netting.
