Quartzite is technically a natural stone material that was originally sandstone. Here in the U.S. quartzite tends to be classified as granite though it is not a granite. Quartzite is fabricated the same as granite with two exceptions; quartzite is "harder" and tends to be more porous than granite. And, sadly, the cost of quartzite it at the upper end of the market. There is also a vast color range and at the lighter end of the color spectrum quartzite becomes a great alternative to marble because of its durability. Hope all this info helps clarify! Thank you for the question.
