Hi kitfoxhome, thanks for your question. The White Persia granite (suede finish) was not used on the backsplash; instead we used Daltile (Cortona in White Flora) as the field tile and integrated mosaics to tie in color. They complement each other quite nicely, don't they?
If your granite tops are a very busy pattern, we'd suggest keeping your backsplash simple. This contrast will highlight your beautiful granite and keep them the main focus. In our opinion, it would look very busy if the backsplash and countertops were the same material - there would be nothing to break it up visually. Another consideration is the cost of a granite backsplash would be much higher than using a porcelain or ceramic tile; for some, it's simply not an option.
