LIGHTING: under countertop. What kind is this, and how does it work? Brand and model spec number?

Is this puck lighting? What is the diameter of the light? What is the spacing between each light? Could this be used in a ceiling to accent a glass tiled accent wall? Is it halogen, LED, incandescent, fluorescent? [Puck, pot, canister, recessed - Can you please explain the difference?]

    This kitchen was done several years ago, and the light are undercounter halogen, about 3" in diameter. One is centered under each 30" cabinet. But today I would use even smaller led spotlights, less than 2: in diameter and more powerful.
