Countertops & stainless backsplash

What material is the grey countertops and how was the short stainless backsplash applied to be flush with the lovely subway tile?

    Thank you for asking Autumnskye. The countertops are a honed sandstone in a grey tone. The stainless is flush because it was wrapped around a substrait like wonderboard. It was set proud of the backerboard that the tile was attached to allowing it to be flush. I also had the edges of the stainless wrap the board so there was no raw edge on the stainless.
