    this door is a Simpson Fir entry door - F1662 with F9541 dentil moulding. The homeowner has refinished it a number of time but what you are looking at was stained 3 times with mahogany stain then a gloss clear coat finish which lasted a couple of seasons, this last time he stripped it and then just oiled it with Danish Oil. The door faces directly west and takes a tremendous amount of direct sun so it takes a lot of heat and weather changes but the homeowner has been pleased with the oil finish that's held up and it's fairly easy to maintain.
