Shower floor?

How is the shower floor constructed? I read another question that there is a concrete pad but was are the slats sitting on? It looks like some type of aluminum bar but hard to tell.

    Hi Kory, The shower base is tanked and tiled and
    aluminium battens running the direction of flow holds up the timber battens. Regards Schulberg Demkiw Architects

    It is just a tiled base so no issue with cleaning.
