    Yes, it was designed for burning wood.

    I've just had one constructed, and I think there is some confusion on how it should be finished on the inside. It is lined with fire brick, then skim coated with concrete. It looks identical to this one I just can't see the inside. I am worried it will crack from the heat....Can you offer any advise? Thanks again.

    On this project the contractor did the final detailing of the fire pit, so I'm not sure what materials were used. Best of luck.
