Space un top of shelves

Hi please let me know the space between the top shelf and the bottom of the cart top. I need around 15 inches.

Also, is the top shelf study enought to hold a heavy appliance (a kitchaid mixer)?

    Hi! Thank you for your interest in our Hoboken Kitchen Cart! The distance between the top section of the shelf is 12.85" and has a weight capacity of 30LB. It can definitely hold your KitchenAid mixer (which is about 20LB). Hope this helps!
