Beautiful! What would you call the type of stone?

I’m wondering if this particular type of stone and the method used to build the retaining wall has a technical name? Stunning work by the way! So inspiring!

The stone is columnar basalt (formed volcanically into hexagonal columns and then chopped into horizontal slices at the quarry). You would call the retaining wall 'dry stack' look; in this case it isn't a true dry stack (dry stone) wall, as there is mortar hidden behind.
