What color is the paint/stain on the island?

I'm trying to refinish some wood cabinets that have been painted an awful putty or cream color. Would I need to sand them first? Did you seal the island after painting/ distressing? Thanks for answering.

    Hi, my apologies for the delay in responding. Yes, you would have to sand the cabinet prior to painting. Also may need to use an oil base primer if you're planning to paint the cabinet using a typical paint product. We use an clear lacquer finish over our stains and paints. You could use the same or use a clear polyurethane. Hope that helps and good luck! Matt
