The living room has a wall of French doors, which open out on to the Southern porch and view of the private airstrip. The interiors of this gracious living room are furnished with a softly textured sofa, upholstered in blended cotton and silk, paired with club chairs covered in a more casual cotton. Silk arm less chairs are adjacent to the club chairs, creating a cozy seating area. All share the autumn color scheme that is employed throughout the house to bestow a year- round luminescence in the often gray Northwest climate. The room is bathed in the subdued glow from the imported Italian Fortuny decorative light feature. The focal point of the room is the large oil painting above the Federal style influenced fireplace surround, which is flanked by fluted pilasters. Both sides of the fireplace have built-in cabinetry and ample display. Area rugs on hardwood flooring and multiple fabrics add a balance of textures giving this room a welcoming feel.
