Carved Large Xinjiang Sideboard
Xinjiang, circa 1900
This large, beautifully carved sideboard would work well in a dining room or as a TV stand for a large TV. It was produced in Xingjiang province in the far west of China over a hundred years ago and the style is very distinctive of furniture from that region. The cabinet would once have been used as a large daybed, much deeper in size and without any doors. What were once decorative panels at the front have been converted into doors, opening up the space inside for more practical storage.
