This is a contemporary luxury house designed for couple with two adult children living with them.
He often works from home and wanted a stunning study, so it was designed to be used as a pavilion when the weather allows it.
The house is in a private estate, but had no views or other attractions.
As the climate in Johannesburg is mild, the use of lots of glass is possible, though most of the south facing glass is double glazed.
The kitchen can be totally opened to the lanai and garden, creating the impression that you are cooking outdoors for 8 months a year.
