This space was unattractive, visible by all the neighbors and totally unused by the homeowners. We added this cool horizontal fence and filled in the area with pavers and different types of rock and it's amazing how it changed the look of this space. A few plants and it was set.

This project reimagines an under-used back yard in Portland, Oregon, creating an urban garden with an adjacent writer’s studio. Taking inspiration from Japanese precedents, we conceived of a paving scheme with planters, a cedar soaking tub, a fire pit, and a seven-foot-tall cedar fence. The scope included a bluestone patio, horizontal cedar fence with built in planters and bench with storage. Overhead cafe string lights and a pendant fixture allow this family to enjoy their garden after dark. Har du möjlighet att ha en, så är en modern uteplats eller terrass bland det bästa du kan ha. Uteplatser är det ultimata för att avnjuta svenska sommardagar, såväl för en mysig frukost, en kall dryck av något slag på eftermiddagen eller att grilla med några goda vänner framåt kvällen. Det är dock inte helt lätt att bygga en funkis terrass och ibland kan det behövas lite hjälp på traven med inspiration. Det är precis vad den här texten är, inspiration för din moderna terrass.

Hur kan min moderna terrass eller uteplats se ut?

I princip, så som du vill att den ska se ut. Din moderna uteplats kan ha sten, eller stenplattor såväl som parkett. Du kan ha vindskydd eller en avskiljande vägg till din uteplats. Du kan ha en modern inglasad uteplats med tak, som gör det till något av ett uterum som kan användas året om. Du kan till och med sätta upp staket runt din uteplats. Uteplatsen kan helt enkelt bli din egen frizon. Det är dessutom väldigt roligt och lätt att hitta inredning till moderna terrasser!

Jag behöver mer inspiration för uteplatser. Vad kan jag göra, åka runt till olika byggvaruhus och titta?

Det kan du givetvis göra, men ett ännu bättre sätt är nog att försöka hitta bilder på fina terrasser på internet. På så sätt kan du få gott om idéer och inspiration till snygga uteplatser. Allt från hur vill inreda din uteplats, till om du vill ha en stor eller liten uteplats.

Finns det något som jag bör tänka på?

Ja, många tror att uteplatser och terrasser måste sitta i direkt anslutning till huset. Det måste de absolut inte, det går jättebra att bygga en fristående uteplats. Många kanske dessutom tänker att de inte kan ha en uteplats bara för att inte har en jättestor trädgård, vilket inte nödvändigtvis behöver stämma. Det går nämligen alldeles utmärkt att bygga en liten uteplats. Vi hoppas att den här texten har gett lite inspiration till hur du kan tänka kring den blivande terrassen din.
