Travertine is a light color that will not scorch feet in the summer. All of the approximate 100,000 pieces are laid mortar free on a compacted bed of sand and gravel.This completes a system of planned drainage so there is no run off onto neighbors or city streets.Water is collected and in turn used for irrigation with the use of an underground cistern.There are many applications for this type of system and there will be no concrete to crack or settle.
