Writing Table/Desk with Riser Shelf
After stripping and sanding, the top was stained with a dark walnut wiping stain. I added three coats of clear satin wipe-on polyurethane. After it had dried and cured, I hand-rubbed the top with 0000 steel wool to smooth out any nibs in the finish, then I added another coat of polyurethane to restore the satin finish and to provide extra durability.
