Combustion Lighting (extra credit) - when there is a reaction with oxygen gas, which releases energy to create heat and light and making it alive and moving constantly.

LED (extra credit) - when the lighting shows different colors of lighting and brightness levels making them suitable applications, including from accent to ambient lighting.

Fluorescent Bulb - is when the electric current is passed through a tube containing argon gas and small amount of mercury vapor

Incandescent Bulb - creates an ambient and setting a mood in space, and the electric current to pass through the filament that is twisted to create light.

2 x 4 Fixture - when the lighting is on the ceiling shaped like a rectangle, normally found in offices, or sometimes in classrooms.

Sconce - when there is a wall-mounted light fixture, giving an illumination and decorative appeal.

Wall Washing - when the lighting is above the wall, placed in a specific angle and distance.

Drop Lighting - when there is a single light fixture from the ceiling by a string, chain or metal rod over kitchen counters or dining rooms.

Recessed Lighting - when there is lighting installed in the ceiling making the space more bigger.

Cove Lighting - when the lighting focuses on the ceiling or walls, making it a cozy or comfortable space.

Up Lighting - when the lighting coming from the floor upwards in the room.

Perimeter Lighting - having light fixtures around the perimeter to illuminate the ceiling.

Grazing - when the light makes one side of an uneven or textured wall bright and the other side darker.

Ambient Lighting - light that generally illuminates the room with the sun and light bulbs.

Accent Lighting: light only highlights on specific objects and details in a room to give attention to.

Task Lighting: the light is focusing on an object or surface workspace, like a desk and not the person.

Natural Lighting: the interior is getting light from the sun, making the room bright.
