Art Deco. This modern interior design beautifully displays the classic art deco movement, with its straight lines and geometric shapes of the furniture, cabinets and countertops.

Art Nouveau. This fireplace is an amazing example of art nouveau because, unlike most fireplaces which have straight lines, this one has feminine, elegant curves that is stylized from that period.

Arts and Crafts. Bungalow houses pay homage to the arts and crafts period, where the craftsman style house was birthed. Craftsman style houses are often design by one person and large in size, which isn't arrordable, thus the birth of the bungalow house.

Victorian. This button tuffted headboard is used as a modern day stylistic piece, but the origin came from the Victorian period when upholstered couches were tuffted because the filling was made out of goose down feathers and they were kept in place by that method.

Baroque. These wingback chairs are still used to this day, but the origin dates back to the Baroque period, where they were used to protect the ill from the drafts of housing that were not sealed and insulated, like modern day housing.

English Renaissance. Some modern day hallways are adorned with photos of their families, which is reminiscent of the Tudor Long Hall from the English Renaissance period.

Q

Gothic. I chose this statue of a gargoyle because some people still use them as ornamental and decorative pieces in their gardens, although they aren't used as functional gutters like they were in the Gothic period; however, they are still know to ward off evil.

Q

Foto

Egypt. This picture of an engraved pathway because it resembles Hieroglyphs. These engravings also tell a story just like the Hieroglyphs did.

Q

Greece. This modern day stool resembles the stylistic design of Greek stools. It has the same "x" shape from that period, yet it embodies a more modern fabric and cushioning.

Q

Foto

Rococo. I chose this chair and ottoman because it resembles a Duchesse briseé from the Rococo period.
