I like the golden colors of this stone and the shapes of the stone and the grey hearth.

I like this brick color and grout combo, and it is a low hearth without looking as low as ours feels I think the mantel is less substantial than I'd like. would want something all the way across and much thicker and deeper.

I like these stones (variation in size, color, and "tumbled" look) and the hearth depth for a few logs to sit by the fireplace. I also like that it looks like poured concrete or a stone slab for the hearth instead of individual tiles or stones.

interesting that this look was accomplished by using concrete! The overall style is too on trend. I'd rather stay more classic in style. The "shelf" look of the different tiers is also neat.

What if we "layered" the fireplace similar to this? so that there is the first layer of bricks which helps users understand that the fire must be built inside the firebox and not go past the ventilation openings at the base and on the sides, and then add depth by adding another layer of stone as the primary fascade for the fireplace. I also like the idea of having an inset area for the wood to be placed. Though I don't believe we will stack wood - just bring in what will be used for the day in a neat bucket/canvas bag.

Something about having the two different finishes is appealing. The lower stone and the upper wood. Not sure why.

love the built-in for firewood! too bad pests would invade the house if we did this! The dark stone is a neat way to visually camouflage the giant TV
