“The crew came out and did a great job pulling out and replanting the foundation planting at my home. The pulled out 7 old azaleas and 3 newer ones, The 3 they replanted in another area for me. The new planting was done quickly and all the material appears to be doing great. The Paperbark Maple is of excellent quality and well shaped. The crew was courteous and polite. The nandinas and hydrangeas used in the new planting were of excellent quality and size. This was not contractor grade material, true nursery stock quality.”

“Elisa is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She also is sensitive to balancing my desires for our garden with my husband's. She replies quickly to all of my e-mails with thorough replies to my questions, and she attaches images and descriptions of flowers and shrubs where appropriate. “We have used Landscape Concepts continuously since 2012 for landscape services, mowing and routine maintenance and clean up. They are really good at minimizing any disturbance of surrounding plants when they are working. They keep our property looking as good as it can be. Their crews are excellent: thorough, efficient, respectful and responsive. Their clean up after working is always really great. They have planted, transplanted, and removed trees, bushes and other plantings at my exact direction (I'm very hands-on). While the cost to guarantee their plantings is high (60% of the cost of the plant material) it is the industry standard and Dale honors his guarantee with no-cost replacement. They do excellent hard-scaping (stone walls, brick and paver patios, etc). They are usually pretty prompt, but some seasons are pretty busy, so give yourself some lead time if you have a hard deadline. Dale is very knowledgeable, responsive, accessible and easy to coordinate with. I find a lack of continuity with landscape architects on staff, so it is helpful for you to have an idea of what you like or want when it comes to designing a space. I always keep a project plan with detailed notes and make progress updates. Credit card payment is not accepted.”

“Debbie Friedman came to our home, listened to our unusual vision for a limited maintenance tropical garden in the DC metro area, researched the plants, provided the design, accommodated our critiques (didn't like certain scents, didn't want prickly leaves), updated design, provided recommendations for contractors, and suggestions for locations to purchase plants to keep costs down. I recommend her highly and would use her again in the future.”

“I hired Chad at Surrounds, because I was looking for someone who could transform our backyard into another area for entertaining. We trusted him. He worked closely with us to present and modify the designs. He let us know when things would not work. We wanted a football field for the kids, as well as covered porch for the back and stone patio /fireplace or the fall. The landscaping was to tastefully hide our close neighbors and provide a southern style charm with year round color and lots of green texture. It is gorgeous on all counts. They flattened the yard and stonework is perfect. We love it.”

“We had just bought our house and did not have the funds to improve our yard with a high end landscaping design company. Rather we had muscle (my husband) and I to do the labor. Enter Maureen Robinson. Respectful of our shoestring budget, Maureen worked with us to develop a garden design that allowed us to enhance the layout that was already in place. She helped design our backyard which was essentially dirt and our front walkway. She helped us choose flowers that allows our garden to be in bloom from April - November. Neighbors look at our yard enviously. Maureen works with the client's vision and offers great guidance. In our case, we were new to gardening, so Maureen both educated us about plants and helped us figure out what we liked. She helped us figure out our vision. She is delight to work with and knows landscape design very well.”
