Casa del Sueno (House of Dreams)
This home was designed to have the appearance it was a small cottage with additions added over the years to accommodate an expanding family. The Home, Garage, (not pictured) and Casita were built to give the illusion of a small village.
Appalachian style Hand Hewn log siding with chinking was used on the exterior. Has the look & feel of a true log home but because the home is stick built with the log veneer - it is more energy efficient & requires less maintenance. The exterior is virtually maintenance free because the logs are treated with an oil bleach solution – this allows the wood gray out naturally without having to be treated in the future. The wood shingles were treated the same way to match the gray of the wood. Galvanized standing seam metal roof covering the gazebo and the porch.
The Casita & home were placed at angles to give the guests a surprise view of the lake as they enter outdoor living areas.
Three stone chimneys with elevated boxed out rain caps are a captivating design detail you notice as you arrive at the home from the long driveway.
