Madawaska River Log Home Renovation and Addition
Picture a lovely log home along the Madawaska River. Our clients love their log home but it is time to update the exterior, renovate the interior, and add a small addition to improve the function and flow. They wanted to keep the existing log walls as intact as possible and the logs will be refinished with a chestnut stain. Aging board and batten siding will be replaced with durable wood batten and shakes, plus there will be new windows all around. The chimney will be refaced with stone to match the new stone on the front entranceway. New shingles will complete the exterior refresh.
The addition will create a main entrance area, and make room for a laundry room, pantry, and covered porch. The interior renovation will include: a second full washroom on the main level; conversion of the screened room to a mudroom; a third bedroom on the upper level
a primary bedroom update to improve views of the river ; and, a larger ensuite bathroom.
A new deck on the back of their home will connect with the existing landscaped stone patio.
