Urban Eclectic Residence
In this traditional neoclassical home our commission involved loosening up the architecture and creating a home that would showcase our young clients tasteful art deco style and exuberant artwork and period furnishings and make it feel comfortable and livable. To that effect we incorporated vintage leather club chairs, deep custom sofas upholstered in a rich mohair along with pillows covered in vintage Fortuny fabrics. We counter balanced this with a reclaimed wood coffee table, and a large contemporary ottoman by Christian Liagre for Holly Hunt. The projector screen cleverly hidden in a soffit above the fireplace allows for a true theatre experience. In the study, an antique Biedermeier secretary works well with the craftsman chair and asian antiques for a well worn classic look. Ebony stained hardwood floors and minimal window treatments create a modern loft like effect. Modern photography and bronze sculptures add to the overall curated effect of this warm cozy but decidedly sophisticated space.
The outdoor space features custom swivel lounge chairs, and a look that mimics the interior layout for a true outdoor living room effect. To avoid a cluttered look all the furniture is upholstered in the same white sunbrella solution dyed acrylic fabric that is washable and easy to maintain.
