The owners of a large detached home in the Westerham countryside wanted a kitchen that would create a clear divide between the functional half of the room and the social side. It was therefore important that Mrs Dodd had plenty of space to cook on her own, at the same time as having access to the lively part of the kitchen where guests could be entertained. The style also had to be in keeping with the farmhouse style of the property and blend beautifully with the existing rustic beams in the room.
