In this photo, a fireplace has been created with a Thomas Jeckyll grate, circa 1875, Maw&Co tiles. A double barley twist oak mantelpiece from 1926 and the hearth tiled with Original Style geometric tiles. The infill between the mantelpiece and the grate has been fixed with timber moulding. Aesthetically, a preferred solution to metal plates and less onerous than stone.
