Houzz Opens Its Doors in France
World’s leading home renovation and design platform taps into France's home improvement market with houzz.fr, specifically tailored to needs of local users

Houzz, the world’s leading platform for home renovation and design, today announced the launch of its localised French site, Houzz.fr, and localised apps for iOS and Android. Strong local demand for the Houzz offering, as well as growing interest in France design from Houzz users all over the world, prompted the company’s expansion into France.

Starting today, Houzz will offer French homeowners, renters and design enthusiasts an easy way to find design inspiration with over four million retina-quality photos of home interiors and exteriors; access home renovation advice from the largest home community on the Internet; read guides and articles from French home design professionals; discover new products to source for their projects; and research and hire the best French architects, interior designers, decorators (“decorateur”) and other professionals who can help turn their vision for their homes into a reality.

For French home professionals, Houzz provides the ability to build their brands and reach new clients both locally and around the world, that resonate with their style, reviews and knowledge. The platform also enables French professionals to share ideas and collaborate with clients in the cloud from project start to finish.

The French are heavy investors when it comes to their home; in 2013, French homeowners spent €40 billion on interior remodeling.* According to a recent survey conducted by the CSA for Houzz, over half of French homeowners and renters plan to renovate their homes over the next two years and nearly 60 percent plan to decorate or furnish their homes over the same time period.**

Since it was founded as a side project in 2009 to help its founders with their home renovation, Houzz has grown organically to more than 25 million monthly unique users and over 500,000 active home professionals in more than 60 categories such as architects, interior designers, builders and more. Over 35 percent of the company’s traffic now comes from outside the U.S.

“France is extremely important to Houzz. As Houzz expands internationally, we’re facilitating a global design language, and France is a key part of that. We’re already seeing many works by French professionals being shared and saved by millions of Houzz users all over the world – from beautiful villas in Provence to inspirational farm houses in Normandy. We’re thrilled to bring an enhanced Houzz experience to the French market and to make the exquisite talent, knowhow and design aesthetic available to the Houzz community around the world,” said Adi Tatarko, Houzz cofounder and CEO.

Houzz has established a dedicated team for France led by Managing Director Thomas Volpi to help both professionals and homeowners get the most from the new French site.
