Mister Chop Shop is a men's barber located in Bondi Junction, Sydney. This new venture required a look and feel to the salon unlike it's Chop Shop predecessor. As such, we were asked to design a barbershop like no other - A timeless modern and stylish feel juxtaposed with retro elements. Using the building’s bones, the raw concrete walls and exposed brick created a dramatic, textured backdrop for the natural timber whilst enhancing the industrial feel of the steel beams, shelving and metal light fittings. Greenery and wharf rope was used to soften the space adding texture and natural elements. The soft leathers again added a dimension of both luxury and comfort whilst remaining masculine and inviting. Drawing inspiration from barbershops of yesteryear – this unique men’s enclave oozes style and sophistication whilst the period pieces give a subtle nod to the traditional barbershops of the 1950’s.

Ce sous-sol s'est transformé en 2ème salon pour la famille T. Désormais, ouvert sur l'extérieur et chaleureux, cette pièce en plus pourra servir de salon d'été, bibliothèque, salle de jeu pour les enfants & bureau d'appoint .

L’architecte d’intérieur Florence Monroe, fondatrice du cabinet Synesthesies, a acquis cet appartement d’une superficie de 160 m² afin de réaliser sa résidence principale. La cave insalubre de 40m2, qui n’avait servis qu’à entreposer pendant de nombreuses années, n’avait jamais été rénovée depuis sa conception il y 150 ans. Entièrement refait à neuf, cet espace situé à l’entresol, d’une maison hausmanienne est aujourd’hui méconnaissable.

Interior Design: freudenspiel by Elisabeth Zola; Fotos: Zolaproduction; In diesem Kellerflur lagen ursprünglich weiße Fliesen. Auf diese Fliesen kam eine Ausgleichsmasse und anschließend wurde dieser Vinylboden darauf verlegt. Alle Kellerutensilien befinden sich in geschlossenen Schränken. Um die Gastherme zu verstecken, wurde diese mit Trockenbauwänden und einer Zugangstür umbaut.

Kellerraum, der zum Gästezimmer und Arbeitszimmer umgebaut wurde. Fenster wurden mit Milchverglasung bestückt, sodass weiches Licht einfällt und das Souterrain nicht sichtbar wird.

En effet, l’immense garage a été entièrement repensé. Il s’articule autour de trois espaces distincts : un plus petit garage, une buanderie et une pièce pour monsieur faisant office de bureau, mais pas que… Adapté pour y travailler, l’endroit est aussi et surtout aménagé pour s’y détendre. En témoignent le profond canapé, le grand téléviseur et le fauteuil de gamer disposés sur place.

To access the basement conversion we decided to put in a bespoke spiral staircase which creates a focal point to this newly created space.

The space around the stairs is dedicated to fun, but contains lots of sexy black to marry with the overall scheme and keep this corner feeling grown-up. A basketball hoop and punch-bag look smart in black leather, matching the room’s other dark notes while providing a focus for play. A small fridge will keep beer, wine and nibbles cool, but its iconic design and dark colour ensure it remains unobtrusive. Clever L-shaped storage in dark wood with baskets in contrasting gold on top slots neatly under the stairs, to exploit this often under-used space.

The proposal extends an existing three bedroom flat at basement and ground floor level at the bottom of this Hampstead townhouse.​ Working closely with the conservation area constraints the design uses simple proposals to reflect the existing building behind, creating new kitchen and dining rooms, new basement bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms. The new dining space uses a slim framed pocket sliding door system so the doors disappear when opened to create a Juliet balcony overlooking the garden. A new master suite with walk-in wardrobe and ensuite is created in the basement level as well as an additional guest bedroom with ensuite. Our role is for holistic design services including interior design and specifications with design management and contract administration during construction.
