Schrader & CompaniesThe Victoria era ended more then 100 years ago, but it's design influences-deep, rich colors, wallpaper with bold patterns and velvety textures, and high-quality, detailed millwork-can still be found in the modern-day homes, such as this 7,500-square-foot beauty in Medina.
The home's entrance is fit for a king and queen. A dramatic two-story foyer opens up to 10-foot ceilings, graced by a curved staircase, a sun-filled living room that takes advantage of the views of the three-acre property, and a music room, featuring the homeowners' baby grand piano.
"Each unique room has a sense of separation, yet there's an open floor plan", explains Andy Schrader, president of Schrader & Companies, the builder behind this masterpiece.
The home features four bedrooms and five baths, including a stunning master suite with and expansive walk-in master shower-complete with exterior and interior windows and a rain showerhead suspended from the ceiling. Other luxury amenities include main- and upper level laundries, four garage stalls, an indoor sport court, a workroom for the wife (with French doors accessing a personal patio), and a vestibule opening to the husband's office, complete with ship portal.
The nucleus of this home is the kitchen, with a wall of windows overlooking a private pond, a cathedral vaulted ceiling, and a unique Romeo-and-Juliet balcony, a trademark feature of the builder.

Hensley Premier BuildersBuilding this family room was a really fun project. The featured wall is covered in shimmery bronze wallpaper that surrounds a fireplace highlighted with Pineapple Onyx tile. The Onyx tiles are back lit with LED strip lighting. Above the fireplace are an LED television and a grouping of decorative deer heads painted white with black antlers. Flanking the deer are decorative panels painted in a neutral accent color. The flooring is hand-scraped oak leading to a wall of doors and windows overlooking the back yard.

Buildon StudioThe client wanted a modern and simple look for their living room area. We paired herringbone patterned wallpaper with an L-shaped modern sofa and a bench in neutral undertones. As it is said ”The fondest memories are made when gathered around a table.” Having this idea in mind we wanted to enhance the dining experience of our client. We did so by creating a beautiful arch with a hand painted mural as a backdrop. We used beige which acts as the base for the entire dining area but is muted in comparison to mauve which sets the tone and binds the space. The opposite wall in the living area consists of the tv unit and the bar cum buffet counter. The challenge here was to have the tv to face the sofa which is at an angle from the wall. Keeping this in mind, a parametric curved tv panel was created to justify the angle and the depth of the niche.

Interiors by Mary SusanThis contemporary condo with a hint of whimsy was completely renovated. Walls were removed to make spaces larger, closets added, as well as a complete bath and kitchen redo. The original kitchen was walled in and the client wanted to see the view from everywhere so a wall was partially removed where the bar stools currently sit. The cherry cabinets were offset with a silver leaf glass backsplash and black granite counters. We made the TV wall a feature wall and painted it a lively lime green, which was a great contrast with all the black and white comfortable furnishings.
We chose the foyer to feature fun art that captured the youthfulness and whimsy of this condo designed for a young adult or couple. In the bedroom we took a departure from the lime green black and white and chose a soft shade of lavender to pair with gray, silver, and cream. Wallpapering the bed wall gave the room personality, creating an organic feel with the trees that are featured in the restful pattern. This condo was truly transformed from dowdy and dated to contemporary and current.
