Inspired By Design, LLCThis bathroom was previously a step up out of the master bedroom and contained a dated sunk in tub and a separate room for a small shower and toilet.
We tore down the wall separating the shower and toilet area and removed the sunken tub. It was an added bonus that the subfloor was rotted and we were able to drop the floor to match the master bedroom which opened up the room even more.
The decision was made to play off of the craftsman charm of the rest of the home and to open up the room. We incorporated "outdoor" materials including plank tile floors, travertine pebbles, and rustic outdoor light fixtures. We also incorporated a custom vanity that features a "makeup box" to keep things nice and tidy.
MC Design LLCWe created this double shampoo niche for the outdoor shower by carving out unused space behind a toilet in an angled bathroom. It provided a shelf behind the toilet which we turned into a bookshelf.

The teak furniture and the grey Kota stone truly enhance the aesthetic of the room. The transitional space between the bedroom and the balcony here is again treated with a different pattern of the same material. This visually eases the transition between indoor and outdoor spaces.
